To pay your parking, traffic, and red light citations online, follow the instructions below:
PARKING CITATIONS
For Parking Citations issued by the Edmonston Police Department (only), you will need the following information before clicking on the web payment page:
1. Your vehicle license plate number. (Ex. "ABC123")
2. The state your tags were issued by. (Ex. "MD")
3. Your parking citation number. (Ex. "093600," or "P301234" or "EPD123456")
* If you do not have all of the above items, call the police department at (301) 699-8805, and we can provide you with the necessary
information.
* Parking violations DO NOT add points to your driver's license.
* If your tags have been "flagged" by the MVA, see notes at the bottom of this page.
RED LIGHT CAMERA CITATIONS
For Red Light Camera Citations issued by the Edmonston Police Department (only), you will need the following information before clicking on the web payment page:
1. Your vehicle license plate number. (Ex. "ABC123")
2. The state your tags were issued by. (Ex. "MD")
3. Your red light camera citation number. (Ex. "8O123456O")
4. A copy of your red light camera citation - you will need the Login Name & Password shown on the reverse side.
* If you do not have all of the above items, call the police department at (301) 699-8805, and we can provide you with the necessary
information.
* Red Light Camera violations DO NOT add points to your driver's license.
* If your tags have been "flagged" by the MVA, see notes at the bottom of this page.
STATE MOVING VIOLATIONS (SPEEDING, STOP SIGNS, ETC.)
For State Traffic Citations issued by ANY POLICE DEPARTMENT in Maryland, you will need the following information before
clicking on the web payment page:
1. Your Maryland State Citation number. (Ex. "BH12345")
IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT TAGS THAT HAVE BEEN "FLAGGED" BY THE MVA
Parking and Red Light Camera Citations which are not paid within 30 days, will be "flagged" by the Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration, and an administrative fee of $50.00 will be added. Once a tag has been flagged, the owner will not be able to renew the vehicle's registration until all of the outstanding citations and administrative fees have been paid, and an official "flagging release" has been issued by the police department. (This is in addition to any fees charged by the MVA.)
If you make payments online, you will be able to print a receipt on your local printer as proof that the citation(s) have been paid, but you will still need a flagging release form to bring to the MVA with you when it is time to renew your tags, which is only available from the police department.
The Edmonston Police Department uses a third party company to collect online payments. That company does not notify us when "flagged" payments have been made, so if you have received a notice from the MVA stating that your tags have been flagged, you will need to appear at the Edmonston Police Department between the hours of 9am-5pm, Monday thru Friday (Holidays excluded), to obtain an official MVA "flagging release."
